Chiropractic

The word “chiropractic” comes from ancient Greek and means “done by hand.”

Chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the neuro-musculo-skeletal system. Chiropractors practice a manual approach, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, extremities, nervous system and joints.

Chiropractors are specialists in manual adjustment of the vertebrae of the spine and other joints. Adjustments helps relieve pain and restore normal functioning to the spine, joints and supporting structures of the body – so you can enjoy your everyday activities again as quickly as possible.

Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, all of which are based on the specific needs of the individual patient. After taking a complete history and diagnosing a patient, a chiropractor can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment plan, including therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.

An important part of any health care provider's job is to help patients to help themselves. At Simcoe Spine and Sport, we place an emphasis on teaching patients sound postural, ergonomic and training advice.
